Bob Hill joined First Command Financial Services as a Financial Advisor in June 1999, following a 25-year career in the United States Air Force. There, he commanded two strategic missile squadrons and an operations group, and he served at the Pentagon, where he performed joint staff duties. He attained the rank of colonel.
A graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, Wichita State University with a Master of Arts degree in Political Science, Central Michigan University with a Master of Arts degree in Business and the National War College, Bob holds Series 6, 63, 65 and 26 securities licenses plus state life and health insurance licenses in Maryland, Virginia and Washington D.C. He is a member of the Financial Planning Association and GAMA International, and he is a former president of the Northern Virginia Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors.
Bob understands that purposeful investing requires both prudent investment selection and disciplined behavior, and he can recommend carefully selected investment products that support clients’ goals for retirement planning, education funding, asset management and more. And because risk management is an essential part of a financial plan, Bob frequently helps clients develop a cost-effective insurance strategy to manage risks to their financial well-being.
Bob regularly hosts “Lunch and Learn” presentations at federal agencies, and he enjoys helping federal employees integrate their benefits into comprehensive financial plans to pursue their financial goals. He has written numerous articles on federal employee benefits and is a frequent contributor to the “Inside Government” program on WFED Radio.
A member of the Arlington Chamber of Commerce, the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and the Virginia Tech Employers Advisory Council, Bob is married with one child. He is a history buff.
