Michael F. Morrison
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer - Financial and Administrative Services
Michael F. Morrison, CFO and Executive Vice President - Financial and Administrative Services, joined First Command in May 1995 as accountant in the Financial Services department. In January 1997, he was promoted to Director of Financial Accounting, and in February 2001 was named Director of Financial Services. Promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President - Financial Services in July 2005, he was named Executive Vice President in December 2006.
During his tenure with Financial Services, Mr. Morrison has developed the department’s professional staff from a single Certified Public Accountant to six CPAs and four professional accountants. He was instrumental in instituting a department cost-accounting structure and activity-based management system. He also orchestrated First Command’s transition to a privately owned company and eventually to a 100 percent ESOP company. In January 2006, Mr. Morrison was promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Senior Vice President - Financial and Administrative Services, which added oversight of the Human Resources and Support Services departments to his responsibilities. In December 2006, he was promoted to Executive Vice President - Financial and Administrative Services.
Mr. Morrison began his career in bank analysis and management in 1978 with Texas American Bancshares, held the position of Senior Vice President - Financial Reporting and Planning, and was responsible for all public and internal reporting and planning for this $6 billion organization.
Mr. Morrison graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and became a Certified Public Accountant in the same year.
