Executive Vice President - Operations and Technology
Jerry Wackerhagen joined First Command Financial Services in August of 2010, bringing more than 33 years of experience to this role.
As Executive Vice President of Operations and Technology, Jerry leads the integration of First Command’s business needs by effectively aligning technology and business processes for services to our field advisors and clients. He is responsible for Product Management, Sales Support, Insurance Operations, the Client Service Center, the Transfer Agency and Business Information Services (BIS). He also leads the Continuous Improvement Initiative for the firm.
Jerry is a senior information technology and operations executive with proven skills in solving business problems. He has experience leading and coaching people in large public and private companies and has held positions in Latin America and Europe that have provided him with extensive international experience.
Before joining First Command, he held executive positions in operations and in technology at several well-known companies. He was the EVP and CIO at Cash America International and, later, the President of Retail Services; the CEO and President of EFT Services, Inc. (a financial services company); the VP and CIO at Atlanta Gas and Light; a Principal at IBM Global Services; and the VP and CIO at CMI Industries, Inc. Jerry started his career with IBM and served in various sales and system engineering positions
Jerry holds a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University and is a graduate of IBM’s Presidents Class. He holds a FINRA Series 99 license and a Chartered Leadership Fellow (CLF®) designation from the American College of Financial Services.
