First Command Recruits Three-Star General for Corporate Governance

FORT WORTH, Texas – First Command Financial Services Inc., announced that Lt. Gen. Nina M. Armagno joined the company’s board of directors, effective September 25, 2025.  

“Since our founding in 1958, First Command has remained committed to helping our Nation’s military families get their financial lives squared away, and we are honored to welcome Lieutenant General (Ret.) Nina Armagno to this mission,” said First Command President/CEO Mark Steffe. “With her distinguished career in the United States Space Force and decades of leadership in uniform, Nina brings invaluable insight into the needs of today’s servicemembers. I look forward to partnering with her and the rest of the board as we continue our Mission of coaching those who serve in their pursuit of financial security.”

Lt. Gen. Nina Armagno is a strategic consultant and retired lieutenant general who brings more than three decades of leadership experience in national security, space operations, and military strategy to her role. She was the first Senate-confirmed general officer in the Space Force and held numerous senior positions across the Department of Defense, including director of Space Programs in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Acquisition and director of Plans and Policy at U.S. Strategic Command. Her career also included command of both the 30th and 45th Space Wings, overseeing launch operations across the Eastern and Western Ranges.
