Founded in 1958 by a retired military officer, First Command Financial Services Inc. and its related companies are focused on helping U.S. service members and their families plan for and pursue long-term financial security.
Today, we have more than 500 Financial Advisors operating from 175+ offices across the country and abroad, most near major military installations. Their focus is on building comprehensive financial plans and serving as personal financial coaches to their clients.

Yes. A fiduciary is a person or an organization that has a legal and ethical responsibility to prudently manage money or other assets on behalf of an individual. As an investment advisory firm, First Command Advisory Services, Inc. is held to a fiduciary standard in all client relationships. That means we have an obligation to always put clients’ interests first when providing investment advice and financial recommendations.

Our CEO is Mark Steffe. Mark joined First Command in March 2010, and after serving in several leadership positions – including on the Board of Directors – he was promoted to President in April 2017, added the title of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in 2018, and in 2020, accepted the role of President and Chief Executive Officer.
