First Command
Client Stories
Jason truly cares about preparing and educating his clients for the future.
I am active duty and my wife is a reservist. When we initially joined First Command in 2019, we were looking for professional advice to financially prepare for our future. We knew that we needed clear goals and knew that we were not financial experts. We each had loans that we were working to pay off, we had good budgeting skills and we thought we had a decent handle on our future. We simply had no clue what we did not know about financial planning and leaving a legacy for our family.
Then, Jason Gurney took us as his clients. Jason could have simply looked at our current financial situation and made some quick recommendations on what we should do, but that was not our experience. Our first appointment happened to be Jason's last appointment of the day, and thankfully so, because we spent roughly twice the amount of scheduled time talking about our lives and goals for the future. We were new clients, and Jason wanted to get to know us. He wanted to understand who we were, what we did, our short-term and long-term goals, what kind of lives we wanted to live and the type of retirement we wanted to enjoy. Jason wanted to learn about us first.
At the end of that first appointment, we scheduled our next, which is where we got down to business. Jason helped us understand our current situation and make a plan for the future. He always took the time to explain anything that we did not fully understand, and he never hesitated to jump up and draw out visuals on his white board to help us make informed decisions. Jason truly cares about preparing and educating his clients for the future, and we are extremely grateful for his enthusiasm in helping others.
