Wow!, is all we could say when we left his office.

Noreen and I joined the team at USPA & IRA right after we got married, way back when. We were both second lieutenants in the Army making “the big bucks”. So we contributed as much as we could to our fund every month.  At that time we could only afford to furnish our apartment with a bed, 2 bean bag chairs, and a dining room table. For the longest time we used two water coolers as chairs. Ahhh the good old days.

Neither one of us are savvy financiers so we trusted that our USPA & IRA (now First Command) advisors would take good care of us.   After more than 30 years with First Command we gave our new advisor, Benn Stocum, a chance. Wow!, is all we could say when we left his office. Benn quickly understood our ignorance with investment strategies and held our hands until we understood what he was saying. We felt like we had just graduated with a degree in finance. Needless to say, 6 or so years later, he’s still our advisor and we tell everybody we meet, that is looking to invest in their future, to talk with Benn. He’s been like family to us.
